Rocket

I don’t know about you, but I seem to use emoji’s more than ever, and I think the only place I don’t over use them is on here.

iOS and iPadOS both have the ability to search for your emoji of choice built in to the on screen keyboard, MacOS or even OSX its a faff to get the emoji selection window to show.

Before MacOS 11 Big Sur. To show the emoji window, you needed to press  “Control ^ + Command ⌘ + Space” to show the window.

After Big Sur, there was a slight change in the keyboard shortcuts to FN + E to show the same window, still not a overly common key combination.

What Rocket 🚀 by Matthew Palmer does, is make adding emojis in to text a breeze by just starting to type, what emoji you’re looking for after a colon e.g :rock

This opens up a small window, allowing you to select from the emoji keyboard :rock

I’ve got Rocket working on my iMac running High Sierra without any issues, all the way up to a Public Beta of Monterey 12.3 installed on my MacBook Air, its great when typing messages via iMessage, plus any other time you need emojis.
